In my line of work I have the opportunity to see hundreds of people every week who are “somewhere” on their journey to being fitter, healthier and happier. Although the people I see are of different ethnicities, shapes, sizes and socio-economic backgrounds they all share a common trait (or lack thereof). You see, when it comes to achieving your health and fitness goals, one key thing separates those who come back regularly from those who do not.


It’s no secret… group fitness classes are an outstanding way to provide a diverse membership with consistent, social, and memorable fitness experiences. But if everyone knows that, why do most Group Fitness Instructors experience a monthly attrition rate of greater than 60% in each of their classes? Well, the answer is quite simple, many of us just aren’t “D.I.R.E.C.T.” in how we deliver each unique fitness experience.
