We search online for just the right thing to post on Facebook to have the world help us feel better, but why? Can our lives be that bad that we search online for the answer or get angry when we see someone living life?? How hard can it be to be happy?

How I Found Fitness:

At the age of 24 I suffered a broken wrist and was dealing with depression. I felt a pull to begin exercising as an attempt to strengthen my body and mind. I felt better and better each day, and began to exercise as much as possible. I found Freedom through exercise- freedom from all the pain in my life. As a rookie, the first two years my diet consisted of high sodium high carbs and starch carbs. I gained a lot of size but was soft and had no cardiovascular endurance. Once I begin to educate myself on proper nutrition for my muscles to grow and recover, everything changed. 

As I sit on my tablet scrolling mindlessly through social media I became very aware just how easy we can find anything. From silly gym memes, to diagnosing an illness on WebMD. We can search for any type of workout video, cooking video, and DIY tutorial. Everything you need and some you just don't need to see! However, every once in a while, a motivational quote or story seems to catch your attention and it holds some type of meaning and makes you just stop and think. 

Do I get spiritual fulfillment from fitness? Absolutely! I'm a science-minded person, but I'm not too proud to acknowledge what I can't prove.  It is no secret that most gym professionals suffer with anxiety of some sort, so we work out for a purpose. There is a different way to work out for whatever you may suffer with. Anxiety, depression, mood disorders, hormonal imbalances, low testosterone levels, chemotherapy... Life throws curve balls. It all depends on how you handle it. 

It is one of the strongest emotions that we can have...Fear.

Fear can stop us in our tracks, and fear can make us chose an easier path in life. I know this is an article that is supposed to be about fitness in some way shape or form; and for me, well, fitness is everything; it is also about one of the biggest fears that I had to overcome.
