Vice President of Personal Training, Xperience Fitness
As Vice President of Personal Training for Xperience Fitness, I have the opportunity to lead and develop our personal training team. We are very fortunate to be able to help connect our members and communities to a better and healthier life. We have a dynamic team that is changing lives for the better every day!
I earned my Master’s degree in Education at Utah State University in Health, Physical Education and Recreation, where I was also a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Fitness Management and Health Promotion, with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. I was fortunate enough to complete an internship at Arizona State University in the Sports Performance Department. I am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). My career path has allowed me to work with and assist many different people ranging from teenagers to professional athletes.
I am also competitive in the sport of power lifting and have placed in the top three at the USA Power Lifting National Championships each year from 2006-2011. I have also placed first at the 2008 and 2009 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic in my weight class.
When it comes to teaching resistance training to our clients the number one resistance training exercise for weight loss, strength gain or almost anything in-between is the squat.
Being involved in the fitness industry for the last seven plus years, in strength and conditioning for four years before that and fascinated with strength for as long as I can remember I still can’t understand how so many people can squat with such atrocious technique, poor range of motion and higher risk for injury.
